British Columbia Archives - Images of Historical Birth, Marriage and
Death Records
The BC Archives is allowed to release personal information about deaths
that occurred at least 20 years ago, marriages that took place at
least 75 years ago, and births registered at least 120 years ago.
Provincial registration of births, marriages and deaths began the year
after British Columbia joined Confederation in 1871. Phase 1 of this
data upload is substantially complete. Phase 2, now underway, will
add more images and indexed information, including pre-1872 records,
deaths that occurred overseas during the Second World War, between
1939 and 1945.

Library and Archives Canada - Canadian Passenger Lists - Search passenger lists for vessels traveling before 1865, between 1865 to 1935, and after 1935.
Library and Archives Canada - Immigration records - starting with records as early as 1787, search over 16 databases documenting historic immigration movements to Canada.
Library and Archives Canada - Canadian Censuses - Online portal to Canadian censuses dating back to 1640.
Library and Archives Canada - Land Grants of Western Canada, 1870-1930 - central database for registered homesteads in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba between 1870 and 1930 under the order of the Dominion Lands Act.
